About Tian

I joined choir since primary school and had been staying in different choirs for more than 20 years. Currently I'm a member of Royal Melbourne Philharmonic since 2022 and performed at Rod Laver Arena and Sydney Cricket Ground with the choir. I joined Rainbow chamber singers (a famous choir based in Shanghai for a whole year and had performance in many famous concert halls in Shanghai, for example the Shanghai Oriental Art Center）I've been teaching a choir in Melbourne and teaching individual singing courses for around three years. I got the feedback of benefiting them a lot on enhancing singing skills.

About the lesson

I teach in a simple and easy-to-understand way and costomize the class with my students. I spot their problems during the class and figure out a way for them to solve the problem and gain progress. I also talk about basic music understanding so my students can get a better view and to express their emotion through singing.

Basic course:
-Intonation
-rhythm
-basic way of breathing
-sight reading
-easy popular song polishing

Intermediate course:
-general singing technique
-solfeggio
-customized focus on the area the student wants to improve
(high pitch, arpeggios and scales, certain songs, depends on the student)

Advance course:
-singing technique enhancing
-music understanding
-emotion expressing
-variation ways of singing for different music pieces

Other related requests accepted:
-recording (soprano, alto; not included in free trail)
-emergency course (depends on my time and would have higher rate)
-pre-audition checkup (case by case)
-etc.

The rate depends on the student's level of singing and the aim they want to achieve. The $65 per hour is for a basic course. If teaching a choir we can negotiate the price later.
