Experience with different levels of high school students from the gifted to the ones on the brink of disaster. Have tutored with work tied to a particular textbook series and with independent study.
A typical lesson plan includes vocabulary and form drill, help with homework, reading in Latin as well as work with Roman history and culture.
Can work with the following Latin series: Latin for Americans,
Ecce Romani, the Oxford Latin Course (Balme and Morwood),
Lingua Latina (Orberg), the Cambridge Latin Course (Phinney, et al.), Reading Latin (Jones and Sidwell).
Greek: An Introduction to Greek (Crosby & Schaeffer), Reading Greek (Morwood et al.), Greek, An Intensive Course (Hansen and Quinn).
Anecdote : A tutor of my acquaintance was told by a prospective tutee the he only wanted to be tutored to the point that he could pass his final exam with a 66 (that score averaged in would allow him to pass the course). When the tutor stopped laughing, she explained that she could not tutor with such precision. Neither can I. I'm good but I'm not that good.
