My lesson plans and strategies are always differentiated based on students' assets and tailored to meet students' specific needs. Every lesson has an objective/learning goal that reflects the students' specific need(s). I utilize the gradual release method which allows me to guide students through the thinking processes necessary to accomplish learning goals. Gradual release also allows the students to showcase their understanding and abilities independently (after the teacher demonstration, and guided practice where teacher and student work in tandem.) Additionally, each lesson ends with an exit-ticket of sorts which is a final check for understanding. My experience as an English teacher, a mentor teacher and an author, and ability to tailor and differentiate instruction based on students' assets and engage students in a meaningful way set me apart from other tutors. Lessons are generally suited for middle and high school students, however, I can accommodate students at any level.
