My technique is simple by helping students make the connection in the simplest way possible and finding ways that help them retain what they have learned.
A typical lesson plan has a teaching moment which is usually in the format of a discussion type of interaction. I then allow the student to teach back to me what they have learned.
My ability to build rapport and maintain a great relationship helps me with getting students to "buy in" with the learning process.
Lessons are for all level of high school learning abilities as well as collegiate students.
