About Michael
I was a candidate for the USCF's National Scholastic Director in 2004 and have been teaching chess to all ages since 1988. I taught celebrities and athletes including Ernie Banks (Mr. Cub) when he was in his mid 70s. Today my focus is online because of the huge demand across the country for qualified coaching.

My lessons are designed for the scholastic competitor and adult enthusiast who wants to improve. ELO to 2000 welcome.
All my courses are in 8 week sessions regardless of age. I also teach pairs and teams of four on Zoom. Each is curriculum is tailored for the individual or team and there is homework required. I have taught students who have went on to become 1st place winners in State and National events. I also work closely with other coaches sharing ideas and new approaches to teaching the best game ever.
