During my professional career, I've worked for four years as a high school math teacher and six years as an in-person/online tutor. No matter what field I'm in, I've always found mathematics has been a big contribution in helping me with my work.

When helping a student, I first address the prior concepts they need to understand the problems they're working on. If necessary, those prior concepts will be reviewed.
When working on the problems, I've found going through the problems step-by-step has been the best way for a student to achieve proficiency. As we progress, my goal is to allow the student to think more independently- to eventually work through the problems on their own.
