About Erica
Adults often think they must start over when they reach a plateau. Playing piano is actually about the groove you find when you stop overthinking the mechanics. With a degree in Latin American Music from Berklee College of Music, I bring a rhythmic foundation to every session.
My background involves 8 years of teaching and guiding 288 students through complex jazz improvisation and classical repertoire. I integrate the soul of salsa and Latin jazz into our study of hand independence and chord voicing. Your future progress relies on turning these technical hurdles into your own musical signature.

Struggling to sync your left and right hands feels like a mountain you cannot climb alone. It happens to the best of us, but I have found that rhythm is the secret key to unlocking those stubborn passages.
We will break down posture and hand position while using ear training to sharpen your sense of harmony. I track your development closely and share a progress report with parents every month to keep everyone updated. My 8 years of instruction allow me to spot exactly where your technique needs a slight adjustment.
We move through sight transposition and memorization techniques until the music feels like second nature. It is a joy to watch you conquer these difficult pieces.
