About Varisha
I became a teacher because I believe in the power of education to change lives. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping children discover their potential, build their confidence, and develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. Teaching gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day—supporting children not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. I see teaching as a way to lay strong foundations, particularly in early reading, writing, and maths, which are the building blocks for future learning. Experienced and passionate Primary Tutor with 6 years of classroom teaching experience, specialising in early literacy and numeracy development. A Phonics and Reading specialist, I have a strong track record in delivering systematic phonics teaching and targeted reading support. As an English Lead for the past 4 years, I have successfully led whole-school literacy strategies and supported staff development. I also have experience supporting the teaching of Maths across the primary phase, using practical and engaging approaches to build strong number sense and problem-solving skills. I am committed to helping every child grow in confidence and achieve their full potential through personalised, evidence-based teaching.
