About Khushi

I have been in practice for about 9 years now, and although I am only a junior, I have experience with handling kids of various ages through conducting classes that are exciting and dynamic. Additionally, I have participated in many competitions placing second at Carnegie Hall, 1st in Great Composers Competitions, North California Young Talents, Elite Competition, US Open, Baroque Competitions, and many more. I do heavily emphasize the importance of curiosity to foster passion in students because without it, you can only go so far. I love to compose my own music in my free time and would highly encourage my students to explore as well--the opportunities in music are endless! Finally, I have theory knowledge from being in Level 10 Certificate of Merit (which is the curriculum I will follow), and taking AP Music Theory in high school, as well as choir, orchestra, etc.

About the lesson

I have had experience teaching kids at my martial arts school for almost 4 years, so I know how to engage kids in a fun and educational manner. My lessons are catered to individuals looking to start a new instrument and are willing to have an open mind with learning. In each lesson, the student will be taught basic piano skills including proper dynamics, music background/theory, ability to read/write music, as well as encouragement to explore and experiment with composition. I hope to spread my passion of music into my students through lessons that are impactful, engaging, and empowering!
