About Idra
I am an experienced Mathematics tutor with a strong focus on calculus and over 4 years of teaching experience. With a BSc in Mathematical Sciences, I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps. Understanding comes first. Everything else follows.
I teach university students, especially those in STEM, how to approach calculus with confidence. I connect theoretical concepts like derivatives and integrals to real-world applications. This makes learning meaningful. It also improves retention.

My teaching approach in Mathematics is highly structured, with each concept carefully building on the previous one. I start with algebraic foundations to create a strong base, then gradually move into calculus topics such as differentiation and integration, geometry proofs, and probability/statistics applications. Lessons are designed to make complex ideas clear and manageable, helping students gain both understanding and confidence.
Problem-solving is at the core of my methodology. I guide students step by step through exercises, teaching strategies to approach both familiar and challenging problems. I also integrate real-world examples to show how concepts are applied in practical situations. This approach strengthens analytical thinking and helps students see the relevance of mathematics beyond the classroom.
I tailor every lesson to each student’s individual goals and learning pace. Lessons follow a clear progression path, ensuring that knowledge is reinforced and gaps are addressed early.
