About Alvina
Have you ever wondered how to make your violin tone project across a concert hall with ease? I find that explaining the mechanics of sight reading, posture, and hold helps students grasp complex concepts quickly.
After helping 462 students over 13 years, I have seen every common hurdle and know how to clear them. We cover classical repertoire, grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity, and the nuances of spiccato and staccato bowing. My teaching style remains methodical, friendly, and thoughtful during every single encounter. Music theory and ear training are woven into our work to build a well-rounded musician.

Resonant strings vibrating against the bridge create a satisfying hum that signals we are finally connecting with the instrument. My lessons are structured to ensure every student enjoys the process of mastering tone production through consistent, clear guidance. I draw on my BMus degree from the Royal College of Music to explain the physics of the bow as much as the artistic phrasing. With 13 years of stage experience behind me, I bring a unique perspective on how to prepare for high-pressure exams.
I share a monthly progress report with parents to keep everyone aligned on the path forward. You will find that our time together is highly practical and focused on tangible musical improvement.
