About Eric
Sight reading, music theory, accompaniment skills, posture and hand position, pop and contemporary, sight transposition, ear training, and memorization techniques are the pillars of my curriculum. Truthfully, I am quite pedantic about hand position because it dictates everything else.
My Artist Diploma in Vocal Studies informs how I break down these mechanical tasks into manageable movements. I have spent 13 years refining these methods to make piano accessible yet rigorous. You will find my approach focuses on keeping practice structured and purposeful. I promise to keep our sessions grounded in the mechanics of the instrument so you can play with genuine confidence.

Starting out, we record the session so you have a clear reference for your practice at home. It is quite helpful to listen back to your own playing to catch nuances you might miss in the moment. I provide a short recorded playback of each session so students can review at home. My 13 years of teaching experience ensures that our time remains focused on 7 essential elements of piano technique.
I use my background in vocal studies to help you understand phrasing and musicality through a more lyrical lens. You will leave the piano feeling much more capable than when you arrived.
