About Arlo

I’m a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Singing. I specialize in teaching young children and early teens, using creative and playful methods that make learning fun and engaging. I love incorporating games, movement, and storytelling to help students understand pitch, rhythm, and the basics of healthy vocal technique. My lessons often include folk songs, Disney favorites, and musical theater pieces that kids enjoy and relate to. These songs help build strong, age-appropriate skills while keeping the experience joyful and inspiring. I focus on nurturing confidence and listening skills, encouraging every child to find their unique voice. Creating a safe, supportive environment is very important to me. I want every student to feel comfortable exploring their musical talents without fear or pressure. My goal is to make singing an exciting adventure where learning happens naturally through play and imagination. Together, we’ll discover how fun and rewarding singing can be. I look forward to helping young voices grow and shine with happiness and creativity.

About the lesson

My singing approach for The Music Major and The Suzuki Student is designed to build confidence, control, and versatility—perfect for auditions or developing a standout vocal portfolio. I guide students in strategic song selection, focusing on pieces that highlight their vocal strengths and align with their goals. We work on tone matching, helping singers adapt to various styles while keeping their unique voice at the center.

Controlled dynamics are a major focus—knowing when to build, hold back, or release sound adds emotional depth and professionalism to every performance. Vocal agility exercises are built into each session to improve flexibility, precision, and breath control. Both personas benefit from regular mock auditions to simulate real pressure, sharpen delivery, and refine stage presence.

Genre diversity is encouraged, exposing students to musical theatre, classical, jazz, pop, and more to broaden their skillset and artistic identity. I incorporate tech tools like backing track apps, lyric trainers, and pitch analyzers for efficient home practice and self-evaluation. This method creates strong, adaptable vocalists ready for auditions, competitions, or advanced studies. It's all about empowering your voice with purpose, preparation, and polish.
