About Serina
My name is Serina and I am offering tuition for years 7-10 English (study score 40)!
I recently graduated from high school in 2022 (ATAR: 88.65) and English was one of my favourite subjects. So, I would love to pass on my knowledge and tips to help your child achieve THEIR BEST in this subject!
I have been accepted into a bachelor of Science at Deakin University as a pathway to the Doctor of Medicine. I will commence my degree in 2024 after taking a gap year in 2023 to work and study the Bible.
This gives me optimal flexibility to take on students who might be struggling with English, or those who just want those sneaky tricks that will make you shine above your class mates. Whatever your reason for undertaking tutoring, I am here to support your child and offer assistance to help them achieve their goals!
I am an easy going, friendly and caring person, so my students won’t feel judged when asking questions! Instead, I aspire to make tutoring the BEST experience they have had as a student.

For success in English, I will firstly help my students identify the main barriers hindering them from achieving their goals. Some kids may be uninterested in English or maybe they have not been given a strong literacy foundation. Others, however, may simply be aiming for top marks but don’t know how to achieve this.
After identifying these barriers, I will work with the student on engaging activities and strategies that will progressively break down their barriers and unleash their full potential in English.
Some of the help I offer:
- provide feedback for optimal improvement on essays
- share the best techniques for high scoring text interpretation and analysis
- help the student overcome major barriers to improvement
- provide and work through engaging activities to improve vocabulary, grammar and punctuation
- help with homework
- answer any English questions
