About Megan
My profound passion for advocacy blossomed during my participation in a volunteer medical relief mission to Haiti, where I realized that even modest contributions can create a significant impact on a community. This transformative experience ignited a love for advocating on behalf of others, leading me to establish myself as an EMT. During my tenure, I acquired invaluable expertise in long-term care, disease processes, and critical care. After dedicating four years to serving as an EMT, my passion and ambitions impelled me to elevate my skills, leading me to embrace the role of a paramedic. Working in a diverse, rural 911 system, I challenged myself to new heights. It was during this experience that I realized my deep commitment to teamwork and teaching, which motivated me to enhance my skill sets. As a result, I embraced the role of FTO/Lieutenant in my current system, eager to make a greater impact and contribute to the growth of those around me

In paramedic school I was told "don't memorize it, just know it!". At first hearing this phrase from my instructor, I was a young, stressed out, sleep-deprived paramedic student. I was furious. What do you mean I am supposed to "just know it'?! After I went home and took a nap I realized what they meant. And since then, I have built my learning and teaching approach on this principle. My goal is not merely to recite information, but to grasp concepts at their core. If you understand the WHY, you don't have to memorize the WHAT. I have worked in EMS for almost 10 years, ranging from interfacility transport to busy urban systems, and currently in a rural county setting. I have found teaching is my true passion. I am a field training officer, teaching EMTs and Paramedics, old and new, how to run in our system. I also teach monthly CMEs for a local fire department. Any help you need in EMT or paramedic school, I probably have a hand-made PowerPoint on it! I myself have a few learning disabilities, and the way EMS is taught is not always catered to neurodivergents. I had to teach myself many things through hours of slaving over a textbook, YouTube and a whiteboard. I lean heavily on deductive reasoning and visual aids, and I can share my insights with you, too! Maybe the course material isn't sticking, or you're completely lost. I will start with you from the beginning, never leave you behind, and make sure you don't just memorize the material, but that you know it!

Megan is amazing at explaining things and concepts in a way that makes them easy to understand and much less overwhelming!
Megan was one of my field training officers at my first EMS job. She is patient, smart, and wants you to be the best version of yourself. She made learning about the job fun through different games and scenarios which is something you just don't come across in the EMS world. Whether you are wanting to pass your NREMT as an EMT-B or a Paramedic, or even just brush up on your skills, there is no one I would reccomend more.
I highly recommend Megan! She is super smart and is able to break down any concept in medicine for everyone to understand!
Megan is a very talented paramedic who knows her stuff. She will help you be successful! 10/10 recommendation
Megan is very knowledgeable and passionate in the EMS field. She is a very effective teacher because she cares. She cares about how you are doing in school and she wants you to be the best provider that you can be. I contacted her several times when I was going through Paramedic school, and I strongly believe that I am a better Paramedic for it. Sometimes the material can be hard to understand, and Megan has a great ability to explain the material in a way that suits your learning style. I highly recommend Megan as a tutor and I cannot thank her enough for everything she's helped me with when I was in school.
Megan is a great teacher! She is knowledgeable and cares about learning and teaching. She helped me through my early years as an EMT. She is adaptable to all types of learning. I highly recommend her to help you learn.
I am a Firefighter/EMT and for over a year Megan has been my CME instructor, lead paramedic on calls, and a great coworker. Megan is quirky, ambitious, and will help out even when you don’t get it the first, second or fifth time around. She always finds creative ways to make EMS fun and I’ve never laughed in an EMT class like hers. I have my strengths and I definitely have my weaknesses, but Megan has helped me cultivate my strengths while gaining confidence in areas that weren’t as strong. I promise if you give her one chance to help with a lesson, you will not be disappointed. I know I am a better EMT because of Megan, my whole department is.
Hands down one of the best EMS educators out there! Megan knows the best way to break concepts down to make them understandable while still keeping things fun and engaging!
Megan is an excellent teacher. She is extremely knowledgeable about the EMS world and the medicine practiced in it. She frequently uses metaphors to make difficult concepts easier to understand and she cares about the information she is teaching. Megan learns and works with different individuals’ learning strategies and makes learning fun. Megan is the first person I ask when I have questions in my field of employment as she is such a talented instructor!
