About Michaela
Developing young musicians at home is where I spend most of my time, fitting comfortably into your weekly routine. My 12 years in professional orchestras taught me the necessity of active listening, a skill I refine through my MMus training while teaching spiccato and staccato bowing. Left hand agility and double stops form the bedrock of my technique, ensuring that intonation and tuning by ear remain consistent during our private sessions.
Sight reading and ear training are seamlessly included in the learning process as I come to your home. These foundational elements ensure that students develop a comprehensive understanding of their instrument, building a path toward musical independence that seems to continue long after I leave…

Providing 10.0 quality recorded playback of tricky passages serves as the anchor for home practice. Rapid technical progress occurs when a student hears an accurate reference while repeating difficult segments between our meetings.
My MMus background informs how I structure these recordings to highlight specific areas of intonation or rhythmic accuracy. 12 years of orchestral work dictates how I pace every minute to maintain focus without creating unnecessary fatigue. Applying these specific methodologies allows for a clear connection between the written score and the physical act of playing. These recordings help every student make consistent progress toward complete technical mastery.
