About Ronald
My lifetime goal is to know everything. Yes, I realize that that is impossible, but it does mean that every day I try to learn more. I am perpetually curious.
I love helping people learn: to improve their life, to increase their skills, and to be more confident.
I am semi-retired for higher education, but still have the ability to contribute and want to share what I have learned.
When I taught college, my students always said I was demanding, but they also always asked if I had another class they could take. I am demanding because I see the potential, but I am also patient, knowing that people do not learn the same way.
I want an interactive and engaged learning. I do not want the role of the fount of wisdom; I want the learner to find that path with my guidance.

I lead learners to understanding the topic.
I believe for writing that practice is best, errors lead to learning, and perfection is not possible, but improvement is. I am versed in teaching basic writing skills, business writing and research writing.
When teaching literature, it is about understanding not only the words but the world the author lived in.
For humanities, I believe it is more than art history, I try to give an understanding of the past as it relates to today.
I utilize the vast resources of the Internet to supplement learning. I believe ignorance is not the same as stupidity. Ignorance is curable; this means learners who not understanding a topic are not stupid. The learner needs clearer directions. Questions are encouraged. Challenging me is encouraged because that means the learner is thinking.
I welcome high school and adult learns who need help improving skills in writing and understanding literature and the world of today and the past.
