About Alicia
Hello! My name is Alicia, and I am passionate about music and teaching. With 15 years of classical piano experience under the Yamaha and ABRSM courses, I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and helping students grow musically. I offer structured lessons with a focus on building strong technique and understanding music theory, tailored to each student’s unique learning style. I want to teach because I truly believe that music can be an enriching and transformative experience. Watching students progress and find joy in learning is incredibly rewarding. I’m here to help you build a solid foundation in piano and music theory, all while making the process enjoyable and fulfilling. Approach to Tutoring: -Focus on creating a fun, engaging, and comfortable learning environment. -Emphasize a balance between technique, rhythm, and music theory. -Adapt teaching style based on student interests and progress. Techniques and Methodology: -Use a combination of traditional methods (Yamaha and ABRSM) and hands-on practice. -Break songs into manageable sections with repetition to build muscle memory. -Ensure students understand the theory behind the music they play. Typical Length of a Lesson: -30–45 minutes, depending on the student's age and attention span. Qualifications/Experience: -15 years of classical piano experience under Yamaha and ABRSM courses. -Qualified to teach Grade 1-3 music theory. -No formal tutoring experience, but I have taught friends songs and enjoy adapting to different learning styles. Who are the Lessons for: -Primarily for ages 5-15. -Suitable for beginner to intermediate students.
