About Gilbert
Maybe you found your way to the board through a rainy afternoon hobby that just stuck. After teaching 258 students, I realised that seeing the game is more important than memorising lines.
I blend my background as a PhD candidate in Statistics with a deep love for endgame technique and middlegame planning. My practice focuses on building the concrete habits of a disciplined thinker. Check your blunders, focus on your pawn structures, and we can discuss the path forward soon.

I help you move past this by teaching structured calculation and visualisation techniques that make every move feel deliberate rather than rushed. Opening principles must be balanced with the ability to handle the board as it evolves into an endgame situation. Since I have 13 years of experience as a tutor, I know how to turn abstract strategy into a repeatable process that keeps your rating at a 7.0 trajectory.
You will receive weekly curated puzzle sets to force your brain to find the hidden patterns in every position. I enjoy seeing students finally grasp the logic behind a complex game analysis session.
