About Bridgette
Hi! I’m Bri Willis, a Year 12 student currently studying Biology, Religious Education, Geography, History, Classics, Statistics and Visual Art. I’m a fun, creative person who loves working with younger students and helping them feel more confident in their learning. I enjoy making study interesting by connecting it to real-life examples and encouraging students to see the exciting side of each subject. Whether it’s explaining tricky concepts, helping with revision, or just being there for extra support, I’m passionate about making a positive difference and helping students do their very best.

Te Reo Maori
Years 3–5 (Ages ~7–10) Focus: Foundations, enjoyment & curiosity. I use interactive methods like games, visual aids, and storytelling to explain concepts, ensuring students see learning as something fun and exciting rather than stressful. Patience and encouragement are key. I celebrate small achievements to build confidence. I help students develop early study skills: organization, neat work habits, and asking questions without hesitation. Years 6–8 (Ages ~10–13) Focus: Transition, independence & deeper thinking. As the curriculum becomes more challenging, I support students in strengthening core skills (e.g., reading comprehension, writing structure, problem solving in math). I encourage independent learning by teaching students how to summarize notes, revise effectively, and reflect on mistakes positively. Lessons become a balance of revision, practice, and discussion, making sure they understand why concepts work, not just how. Years 9–11 (Ages ~13–16, including NCEA / GCSE) Focus: Exam preparation, critical thinking & confidence. I help students identify strengths and areas to improve, then build personalized study plans to target gaps. Together, we practice past exam questions, analyze mark schemes, and learn how to structure answers for maximum marks. I emphasize critical thinking and deeper understanding rather than memorization alone, so students feel genuinely prepared. Sessions include discussion, timed practice, and feedback to refine technique and boost self-belief. Across all year levels: I create a safe, judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and exploring ideas. I communicate openly with students (and parents, where helpful) to track progress and adjust the approach as needed. My aim is always to make learning rewarding, help students feel proud of what they can achieve, and nurture lifelong curiosity.
