About Carmen
I understand that starting a new instrument can be both exciting and intimidating. That is why my approach is rooted in patience, clarity, and professional encouragement. I specialize in helping students master the 'essential fundamentals'—such as proper embouchure development and breath support—while maintaining a positive environment where every mistake is treated as a valuable learning opportunity. Beyond the classroom, I am a regular performer with Mountain Ridge High School Symphonic band, ensuring that my technical advice is always grounded in current, real-world performance standards. When you study with me, you aren't just getting a tutor; you are gaining a mentor who is deeply committed to your long-term success, your equipment's longevity, and your growing passion for music."
