About Paul
I am a huge fan of Marvel, especially Spider-Man, as well as DC comics, video games (my favorite is Minecraft), and Star Wars. I love books and I love to write, and I especially love teaching young people to read and write well. I grew up in northern Virginia but currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada with a beautiful woman and an embarrassingly cute poodle.

I use a number of methods to help students to become better readers and writers. I like to use references to student interests like video games, movies, toys, and teen fiction. I have found guided practice to be one of the best methods to learn one-on-one, so I take students through each step of a writing process until students are capable of succeeding at each step on their own. I follow a similar structure with reading comprehension skills, working on one skill at a time with a student until the student can handle that skill independently.
