About Carol
I specialised in IBDP SL/HL chemistry as well as the Cambridge international A/A2 level chemistry. I have completed the IBDP training given by the IBO in both categories 2 & 3 in Chemistry in 2017 and 2019 respectively. My students are motivated to learn and achieve excellent results. 21.1% of my students were able to achieve the perfect scores of 7 in IBDP HL chemistry in July 2020 in China while 22.2% managed '7' and 33.3% obtained '6' in SL/HL Chemistry in Japan in 2017 of which one of the candidates scored 90% in SAT chemistry.
In July 2019, Extended Essay candidate managed a score of 30/34 in Biology.
In July 2020, 15.8% of distinction (‘7’) and 26.3% of grade A (‘6’) of IA candidates directly supervised by me were awarded by IBO.
The IGCSE extended chemistry cohort taught by me who scored 33. 3% A*, 25% A and 33.3 % B in August 2024 improved from only a 33.3% pass in the first written test of two topics in late Aug 2023.

As many relevant examples as possible are given to promote a thorough understanding of the abstract concept. Full participation is required from students throughout the lessons. Useful links are applied. Problem-solving approach/molecular building/experiments to enhance understanding. Students are trained to apply keywords in their writing of answers. Relevant past examination questions are used per topical revision. I can be of help in setting a good research question or giving research directions for your IBDP internal assessments as well as the extended essay. Lessons for a class of 3 or more can be arranged.

All A level/IBDP students will be charged at 33 pounds/hr. Pre-university students at 35 pounds/hr IGCSE students at 28 pounds/hr IBDP Internal assessments will be charged separately.
