About Cortnee
I am a 5-year teacher in an Elementary school, along with 5 years' experience working with children 1-5. Originally from Wisconsin, I moved here 10 years ago where I just recently started my family. I enjoy crafting, baking, reading, and being outside!

As a tutor, my approach is student-centered, supportive, and practical. I start by understanding each student’s current level, learning style, and goals so I can tailor my teaching to their needs. I believe learning works best when students feel comfortable asking questions, so I create a safe and encouraging environment where mistakes are part of the learning process.
When I share my knowledge, I focus on explaining concepts step by step, using simple language, real-life examples, and visuals when helpful. I don’t just give answers—I guide students through the thinking process so they can understand the why behind each solution. I regularly check for understanding and adjust my explanations if something isn’t clear.
I also encourage active learning by asking questions, practicing together, and helping students develop confidence and independent problem-solving skills. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them become more confident, motivated, and capable learners.
