About Elias

I've tutored students for years, both at Yale and afterwards, and from topics ranging from elementary reading/writing to Differential Equations and Multivariable Calculus. I'm excited to get started with committed students, and provide the same prep I wanted when I went through the college process!

About the lesson

I'm Elias -- a recent graduate from Yale University, where I double majored in history and economics and graduated with distinction. Now that I've finished my own studies, I'm looking to take on a few students of my own for private SAT/SSAT tutoring and college counseling over the next several months.

As a top performer, I know what it takes to apply for colleges at the highest level, and the demands placed on students' schedules; my sessions will have flexible timing and cover the entirety of your standardized test of choice. These will generally be one to two hours, entirely virtual, and vary depending on a student's specific need: whether looking for a comprehensive, step-by-step progression through all subjects on the test or focusing on specific problem solving techniques and practice solutions. Like the timing of the sessions themselves, lessons are entirely flexible and based on the student's current level of preparedness for the SAT/SSAT. They can, likewise, extend from a single session to recurring meetings that continue for months. I've tutored peers and students younger than me in topics ranging from basic history to Differential Equations, and am as adaptable as a tutor as the curriculum I'm hoping to teach.

Finally, I can also provide significant insight into the college and high school application processes. While I went to Yale, I also have siblings at Harvard, the Johns Hopkins theoretical physics department, and the Georgetown School of Foreign Service; each of us applied to boarding school beforehand, and I am well versed in building application strategies. As a high school athlete and walk-on to Yale's national champion rowing team, I also have unique perspective on the collegiate recruitment process that I can share with any prospective D1 athlete.
