About Victoria
Hello! I'm Victoria, a certified teacher, PhD candidate in Roman History, and lifelong lover of stories, languages, and ideas. I grew up in Toronto, where my father taught romance languages, and I've spent much of my life fascinated by the ways words can shape how we understand the world.
My path to writing and education wasn't entirely straightforward. I started university in the sciences before a Roman history course completely changed my plans. Since then, I've earned an M.A. in History, am finishing my doctoral dissertation, taught at both the high school and university levels, and have spent countless hours researching, writing, editing, and mentoring students.
Along the way, soccer took me to Montréal (I was a varsity goalkeeper at McGill), languages opened unexpected doors, and I discovered that some of the most rewarding work I do is helping students find their own voices on the page. Today, I live in New York City with my wife, our son, and our cat, and I work with students who want to become stronger, more confident writers and thinkers.

As a certified teacher, PhD Candidate in Roman History, and holder of an M.A. in History, writing has been central to my academic and professional life for more than a decade. I have taught at both the high school and university levels, and enjoy helping students of all ages become stronger, more confident writers.
I can help with:
• Academic essays and literary analysis
• Research papers and source integration
• Thesis statements and argument development
• Organization, structure, and revision
• College application essays and personal statements
• Reading comprehension and critical thinking skills
Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I help students understand how writing works so they can become more independent and effective communicators. I work with middle school, high school, university, and adult learners, and tailor each lesson to each student's goals and needs.
