About Jaleesa
I have an MFA in Writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Before that, I received a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a BA in Anthropology from Augusta University (AU).
In high school and undergrad, I tutored my peers, as well as the children of my family, co-workers, and acquaintances.
During my time at SCAD, I was a Peer Tutor, and I had articles published on GameSkinny and Chocoley. After that, I taught English Composition at AU and Georgia Military College.
I currently work as an editor for the prestigious law magazine, The Army Lawyer.

My teaching method is a mix of discussion and real-world applications. In terms of methodology, I prefer to focus on helping individuals with problem areas identified by themselves, a teacher, or their parent(s).
Once the problem area(s) have been addressed, I work to help the individual improve it through the teaching method that best suits their needs. Sometimes, this involves reading aloud to ensure comprehension, other times it may involve games to encourage memorization.
I will always consult the individual and/or their parent on the lesson plan before I implement it.

Details
I charge $25 per hour for tutoring in English, Writing, Grammar/Mechanics, and Reading. My lessons are comprehensive in that, if I teach one, then I must teach them all. The rate of $25 may seem high at first but, since all of these skills are intertwined, you're receiving four lessons in one.
