About Ruthie
BMus in violin performance from Rice University provides the foundation for my piano instruction. I balance formal piano study through diploma level with my background in the Central European tradition.
Memorization techniques and ear training occupy a central role in how I shape student progress. I have guided 402 students through the nuances of posture and hand position.
Scales and arpeggios are taught as creative tools for building melodies, not just technical exercises. Chord voicing and dynamics and expression allow us to color the musical landscape. Grade exam prep for ABRSM and Trinity ensures we meet rigorous standards. I find great satisfaction in watching intermediate pianists discover their musical voice.

Fluent expression starts here. We develop specific skills through careful attention to hand balance and finger independence. I often find that focusing on the smallest details unlocks the grandest musical gestures. My approach incorporates 10.0 intensity adjustments to ensure you master complex passages with grace.
We work on chord voicing while discussing the intent behind every composer. I adapt my 13 years of experience to match your unique learning pace. This process encourages you to view every note as a conversation. Are you a ready to discover how your playing can improve and evolve?
