About Elijah
I am a dedicated Piano tutor with 20+ years of experience teaching school students, college students, and working professionals. I enjoy helping learners develop their musical abilities through clear instruction, regular practice, and positive encouragement.
I believe that every student deserves an approach that suits their individual needs. I first understand their current skills, musical interests, goals, learning preferences, practice habits, and areas that need improvement. I then plan lessons according to their level and pace.
My teaching areas include piano basics, finger exercises, hand coordination, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song practice, improvisation, and performance skills.
I combine theory with practical playing so students can understand how musical ideas work. I use simple explanations, demonstrations, guided practice, and songs to make lessons interesting and easy to follow.
My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, communication, flexibility, motivation, and accountability. I encourage learners to ask questions and share their difficulties. I provide constructive feedback and help them find practical solutions instead of simply correcting mistakes.
I also teach effective practice techniques. Students learn how to divide difficult pieces into smaller sections, manage their time, improve weak areas, and build consistency.
One notable achievement in my 9-year teaching journey is gaining experience with learners from school, college, and professional backgrounds. This has helped me become a flexible and understanding tutor.
My goal is to help students develop strong piano technique, musical understanding, confidence, creativity, and independence. Whether you are a beginner or already have experience, I provide personalized lessons designed around your musical goals.""I am a dedicated Piano tutor with 9 years of experience teaching school students, college students, and working professionals. My piano teaching methodology is based on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe every student has a unique way of learning music, so I adjust my lessons according to their level, interests, learning speed, and goals.
I begin by understanding the student's piano experience and musical expectations. For beginners, I focus on posture, hand position, finger coordination, note reading, rhythm, scales, chords, and simple songs. For students with previous experience, I focus on sight-reading, technique, interpretation, musical expression, and performance skills.
I use demonstrations, written exercises, listening activities, repetition, and practical piano playing. When a student finds a concept difficult, I explain it using simpler examples or divide it into smaller steps.
Flexibility allows me to change the lesson pace according to the student's progress. I encourage collaboration by involving students in selecting songs, setting goals, planning practice, and discussing their learning challenges.
I maintain a positive environment where students can ask questions and make mistakes comfortably. I provide encouraging feedback and help students recognize their progress.
Along with piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to make piano learning enjoyable, practical, and confidence-building.
