About Maya
Hi everyone! My name is Maya Vyas. I attended the University of Southern California for Writing for Screen and Television and, since graduating in 2021, I have been working in TV writing. My first show was Walker on the CW, then I went on to write on Leverage: Redemption and We Were Liars on Amazon Prime. I just finished the second season of We Were Liars (coming out in 2027!). Growing up in Tipp City, OH, I had a dream of being a writer for television. I know firsthand how daunting it is to take the first step in achieving your dreams. And how far away it may feel. I am here to bridge that gap. I have a passion for cultivating the next generation of writers and storytellers - and I also have a background as an ELA and Math tutor for children ages K-12. I am here to help with creative writing, screenwriting, editing essays (for college or for class), or to polish those pitching skills for when you get into an elevator with someone who could change your life!

I think there is a lack of mentorship in our industry, especially for those who want to break in without a degree or any connections, and I want to offer my services and expertise to get you started. Depending on your goals in my sessions, we can write a whole TV pilot or feature film together, tweak essays or creative writing you bring into the session, or I can come up with fun, creative prompts to start writing during our time together. I am also open to hearing and fleshing out pitches or reading any scripts you may already have cooking in that beautiful mind of yours. Excited to work together!
