I took piano lessons as a child but nothing stuck. I just couldn’t engage with my piano teacher’s teaching style and she actually made me feel quite hassled. In the end, I just gave up on the whole thing. So, when I came to Rhys for lessons in my mid-30s, having not so much as played a note in two decades, my level of ability was very low. As were my expectations for what I could hope to achieve. But Rhys has been very patient and kind. He has demystified a lot of things for me and I’ve actually been amazed at what I’ve been able to pick up under his guidance.
