About Mattie
My primary expertise centres on percussion, particularly drum set, though I can play a wide range of percussion instruments including piano, and mallet instruments. When I was younger and before I was a Dad, I toured extensively across Canada, the USA, the UK, and Europe in various musical configurations. As well as playing on and producing records in studios.
Over the past fifteen years, I have concentrated on establishing and operating a recording studio, where I produce and engineer albums mostly for contemporary folk and jazz artists throughout the UK. The highest quality is what I’m always focused on. With over 25 years of experience recording acoustic instruments in diverse environments - from professional studios to historic castles. I have played on and produced records for Karine Polwart, Rachel Newton, Adam Holmes, The Burns Unit among many, many others.
