About Tracy

Hello! My name is Tracy. From ESL to social clubs and creative writing, I offer many different classes that are fun and allow for learning without pressure and stress! Academic success has always been important to me. I was the valedictorian of my high school graduating class and I graduated from Grand Canyon University, cum laude. I have 16 years of teaching experience. I taught a private school before starting a family of my own. I have taught every subject, from ESL to math and physics! I’ve taught ages from 3 to 35 years old.
Learning is important, but it's difficult to learn when you are stressed, struggling, or overwhelmed. I strive to make my classes fun so learning is easy.
As a mother of five, I understand that every child is different and they each have a learning style that works best for them. Because I have homeschooled all five of my children since the beginning of their schooling, I have seen the different ways children learn and know the importance of making learning enjoyable . I adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of the student.

About the lesson

This class can be geared towards any LA topic, including phonics, parts of speech, creative writing, grammar, and more. Let me know what you would like to focus on and I will customize the class for you!
This is an example of what my reading comprehension class would like:
Students will work on strengthening their reading and comprehension skills. This class is offered to any age and skill level. I will adapt the content to your learner’s level and capabilities. Students will be reading passages or books, followed by comprehension questions and discussion. Students will learn unfamiliar vocabulary. Students will be able to practice strategies, such as using context clues, to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words.
Since this class is adapted to the learner, please provide details of your student's skill level and any problem areas. I also like to choose readings based on the student's interests when possible. Feel free to include some of your child's interests as well.

Excerpts and Books will vary by age and skill level.
Some examples of reading passages and books are:
An excerpt from Rikki-tikki-tavi by Rudyard Kipling
The Three Little Pigs
An excerpt from the classic adventure story White Fang by Jack London
Amelia Earhart Biography
An excerpt from Peter Pan
