About Barbara
I enjoyed school growing up. I had many good teachers and some that were not nice. Based on my early education experiences I decided to work as a teachers aide with deaf pre schoolers. The babies I work with begin by playing and coloring and singing songs. The whole time through the year, they are also learning to read their names, learn their colors, numbers, and letters. As the students move up in grades they the sensory shift moves more towards reading and writing of sophisticated materials ( which can be boring) rather than shaving cream play or kinetic sand. Older students deserve the the same fun experiences that younger students experience so I always try to have at least two fun activities per serious lesson I teach. Learning has many faces and can happen in many ways. My aim is to educate with a fun meaningful manner that helps the lesson be remembered

I try and find fun activities and sources to make learning fun. I am strict, but fair. Mistakes are bound to happen, that is how we learn. I believe in asking questions because that is how we learn. I want my students to experience as many ways as possible to perform a task before they even try to master it.
