About Finn

Choose me as your tutor, and you'll gain more than just academic guidance: you'll have a mentor who brings a diverse range of interests and experiences to the table. As a sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about football and kickboxing, I understand the importance of dedication and perseverance—values that transcend the arena and apply seamlessly to academic pursuits and focus. Beyond the classroom, my hobbies include - thankfully - reading and honing my skills in Muay Thai, reflecting my commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement. With a track record of strong performance in English academically and confidence in my tutoring abilities having previously led a book club as part of a community outreach program, I offer a blend of knowledge, enthusiasm, and approachability. Together, we'll delve into the world of literature, dissecting texts, refining writing skills, and revealing your full potential as a student of English literature.

About the lesson

As an International Business undergraduate at the University of Knowledge and having studied at St Albans School, I possess strong knowledge in a wide range of areas; in particular, I have a deep passion for English literature and a desire to share my knowledge. My approach to tutoring is dynamic and student-centred. I believe in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and explore the intricacies of literature. My techniques, although new to online tutoring, will involve a combination of interactive discussions, close reading exercises, and personalised feedback tailored to each student's needs and learning style. Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, providing ample time for in-depth exploration of literary themes and analysis of texts.

While I may be a university student myself, I am confident in my ability to effectively transfer my skills and enhance the quality of writing through online tutoring. My academic achievements include scoring a 9 in English Language, an 8 in English Literature, and achieving a strong B in A-Level Literature, just one mark shy of an A. Despite my lack of formal tutoring experience, my enthusiasm for literature and dedication to helping others succeed make me a valuable resource for students aiming to excel in English literature A-Level. Whether you're an A-level student seeking to improve your literary analysis skills or an adult learner seeking to write more convincingly and aesthetically, my lessons are designed to meet the needs of learners of all levels and ages. Join me on a journey of literary discovery and watch your understanding and appreciation of English literature flourish.
