About Simon
I am a piano tutor based in West Ryde with qualifications in ABRSM Grade 3 Practical and Grade 5 Music Theory. I have experience teaching at a music education center as well as providing private piano lessons. I also have performance experience in both classical solo repertoire and jazz ensemble settings. I specialize in teaching jazz and classical piano, working with beginners through to intermediate students of all ages. My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals, with a focus on building strong technique, musical understanding, and confidence at the piano.

I offer piano lessons in West Ryde for beginners through to intermediate students, specialising in both jazz and classical styles. My teaching approach is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s goals, focusing on technique, musical understanding, and enjoyment. Lessons typically run for 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s preference and level. I work with children, teens, and adults, including complete beginners and returning learners. My goal is to build confidence at the piano while developing practical skills in reading music, rhythm, and improvisation, particularly in jazz.
