About Emilie
I have been teaching music for a little over a year now, and have discovered a real passion for it. I love working with both kids and adults, and I love the feeling of learning with them. I feel like I am learning a lot about myself and my playing from them as I teach. You truly can never stop learning new things no matter how long you’ve played for. I have experience in all genres. I have played in jazz groups for the past 4 years, and have experience playing in alt rock, indie pop, and heavy rock bands. I truly love playing the drums, there is no other instrument that compares to it for me. My ultimate goal in life is to share the passion that I have with other people.

I like to provide my students with a safe and easygoing atmosphere. I want my students to feel free and comfortable to play, ask questions, make comments, and most importantly, learn! I keep my lessons personalized yet structured. I have specific things I may want to work on with them, but will make sure we are working towards the students individual goals. I want to structure the lessons around them, that way they are getting everything they fully wanted out of the lessons. We will delve into styles/songs/techniques that pertain to the students interests and goals.
