About Jhalak

I graduated from the University of Warwick where I studied Mathematics. I completed my A-Levels in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics with 4 A*s, as well as taking the Cambridge STEP university entrance exam for maths. I discovered my passion for teaching when I set up a maths club at school, teaching students maths to give them a head start in their classes. I love to support students of all ages make progress on problems, gain confidence in their abilities and develop their academic interests. Since then I have run online tutoring sessions for children and have helped with homework clubs, with consistent positive feedback. In my free time, I enjoy running and hiking.

About the lesson

I am a passionate tutor who loves to help students develop their analytical skills. This provides them with a strong foundation in Maths, Science and also a broad range of other subjects. I support students in understanding new content and applying their knowledge to past paper questions to fully ensure they are happy with the topic. However, my teaching style also provides students with the chance to think independently and enjoy problem-solving, developing their skills as an independent learner to aid them in their long-term studies. Where possible, I try to give my students an insight into real-life applications of the topic studies, helping them expand their critical thinking skills beyond the syllabus. I usually give lessons for 1 hour once or twice a week but am happy to increase, if needed.
