About David

Writer, academic, artist, skier, hiker, surfer, collector, and traveler are all words that I would use to describe myself.

However, I find that "problem-solver" is a label that resonates most with me.

It is this inexhaustible attribute of solving-problems by whatever means are necessary that I will extend to your lessons.

Growing up in coastal Maine, becoming an Eagle Scout, working as an instructor in numerous sports, interfacing with difference (and reconciling it) through decades of world travel, and having a deep and innate understanding of logic, reason, the process of inquiry, has helped me to generate a number of "goods". These being the qualities of professionalism, decency, patience, flexibility, and the incorporation of diversity (tangible and intangible) into the parameters of what I find comfortable.

Upon blending these qualities with my understanding jurisprudence, logic, legality, philosophy, and political theory, I feel confident in saying that any student taken under my wing will receive only the highest levels of respect, attention, and genuine consideration. Additionally, should they have other interests branching into political theory, economics, or philosophy, then tangential discussions can be had! (Though only after the LSAT matters of the day have been addressed)

Within my lessons, we will first work to determine which areas the student is in the most need of improvement (and which areas they do well with). Next, we will develop a personal plan toward developing the skills needed to succeed—whether they be propositions of logic or analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, writing ability, or just general test-taking time management.
After six weeks of working with me, students will become capable of scoring over 170 on Practice LSATs.

Unlike other LSAT tutors, these lessons will be guided by someone within the general age of law school applicants and, as such, conducted through a far more approachable and relaxed environment than most. The impasse of "frustration", I find, can be easily resolved through the reconfiguring of problems into more relatable positions. Or... looking at things from a different angle! In removing this barrier, students can find confidence within the classroom and look forward instead of feeling left behind.

These lessons are meant for both students currently studying their undergraduate or masters, or those who have already graduated.

As for myself, I've spent years ski instructing and assisting political science professors with their classes. In the academic scene, I have worked on publishing papers surrounding theory of mind, neoliberal economics, and free writing, and have helped countless peers write essays, achieve better test scores, and gain a clear sense of "what the heck is going on." In relation to efficacy, every peer who had paid for help from me received no less than a 100% on what I assisted them with. And, let's just say, every child I've instructed in skiing left the program with the ability to one-up their parents.
