About Ina
I began teaching in 2015 and have taught Religious Education and Philosophy across Key Stages 3 to 5 for 10 years. I hold a PGCE in RE from the University of Exeter (the centre of excellence for Religious Education in the UK). I am currently the Head of RE and Philosophy at a grammar school in London. I’ve designed spiral curriculums from Key Stage 3 to 5 that support long-term retention, deep subject understanding, and progressive skill development. I started tutoring alongside teaching to provide individualised support for students preparing for exams or requiring targeted intervention. Tutoring allows me to tailor content to specific needs, respond to misconceptions in real time, and help students approach challenging material with greater confidence. When students meet me halfway, collectively, we’ve produced progressions of 2-3 levels/grades on average. As a former examiner, I bring an in-depth understanding of assessment criteria and what exam boards are looking for. This gives my tutees a significant advantage when it comes to refining their technique, avoiding common mistakes, and producing precise, focused responses under exam conditions.

In our introductory session, I begin by identifying skill and knowledge gaps, as well as learning styles and individual preferences. This helps me design a personalised programme tailored to each student’s needs. Programmes are aligned with specific exam boards—OCR, AQA, Edexcel, or WJEC—and target key areas for development, including subject knowledge, essay writing, and exam technique. Each session includes regular opportunities to revisit and consolidate learning, supporting long-term memory retention. For both GCSE and A Level students, I focus on breaking down complex concepts, making success criteria explicit and modelling high-quality responses. Note: Packages include exam marking to provide detailed, constructive feedback: -5-lesson bundles include 1 marked paper -10-lesson bundles include 3 marked papers
