About Marilyn
Teaching exists because I enjoy the transmission of rhythm. I spent 13 years gigging across the US and Latin America as a self-taught musician. My degree comes from years of live performance on piano and guitar.
I specialize in jazz improvisation and chord voicing techniques. Intermediate and advanced learners often come to me for structure. Kids and returning players find my approach to classical repertoire quite grounding. My process is essentially a direct reflection of my life on the road.

Personalization starts with observing how your hands move across the keys. Sound is everything.
I provide a short recorded playback of each session so students can review at home. My 13 years of experience allows me to spot technical hurdles quickly. We tackle sight transposition and sight playing as core skills.
