About Mia

I’m a recent high school graduate with a new found passion for artistic rollerskating. As I plan to start uni soon at Curtin, I’d like to extend my help out to students who need help in math to help support my dreams and study plans. I’ve always been a higher performing student in maths, being in the extension course at my school years 7 through to 10, and in years 11 and 12 I opted to study Math Application ATAR.

About the lesson

I believe in a hands on teaching approach, where I show and explain each step of an equation whilst allowing the student to step and help solve it. This is so they are actively participating in the solving of a problem and it becomes are more show then tell type of teaching. I tend to go for whiteboard teaching methods, and can also provide learning tools such as tokens and cards for younger audiences to keep them well engaged.

Lessons will typically go for 60 minutes, more or less time can be discussed.

I’ve got personal experience in helping children online with math and hands on experience with helping younger family members and friends.

My lessons will be for junior high school students of years 7-9, and primary school students, in particular those who maybe particularly struggling with the topic.
