About Jess

My name is Jess Matthews & singing has been a part of my life from a very young age. It has developed into a life-long passion of mine that has never wavered.
Having studied at the Music & Audio Institute of NZ back in 2002-2004, I was able to gain a Diploma in Contemporary Music Performance.
From there I then spent 15yrs in the Music Industry as a vocalist in various collaborations, but more notably Auckland based collective "The Hypnotics".
Over the span of my lifetime I have been very fortunate to gain knowledge and mentorship from some amazing coaches.

Autonomously I have also delved into other areas such as Vocal Kinesthetics as I am a firm believer that how you feel when you sing is more important than how you think when you sing.
I am a lover of all styles of Music but more so of RnB, Soul & Country.

About the lesson

If your over the age of 16, with a passion for singing and you want to learn more about what YOUR voice can do for YOU, then let me guide you through a journey that will not only improve your vocal range but also your vocal understanding and knowledge about the HUMAN VOICE!

Each lesson is customized to your own Vocal Goals, however we will always cover the fundamentals to ensure safe & effective methods are your baseline.

We will cover: Optimal Breathing, Vocal Anatomy, Agility, Diction, Fun Vocal Exercises & so much more!

To truly enhance your natural voice, you will grasp tools that you can use anywhere & anytime!

Each lesson is 1hr long with electronic study guides emailed at the end of each one. We will break each session up into: Warm-ups, Targeted Vocal exercises, a little bit of theory & then the fun stuff - working on a song of your choice!!

I so look forward to hearing all about your Vocal Goals!!
