About Benjamin
I'm Benjamin, and I've newly landed in Wellington after three years living in Venice. I'm originally Dutch and grew up on Curaçao, in the Antilles.
I'm a huge creative and therefore have a lot of different pursuits, recently cyanotyping and embroidery have taken up a lot of my free time. Outside of art I love the outdoors. In the weekends I might be found at various galleries, going on hikes or volunteering in people's gardens.

I believe in a leaner-led environment. Art is about expression, and the one doing the creating can best identify where they want to go next. I'd be happy to help you determine what extra tools we can equip you with to get where you want to go.
I am trained in the fundamentals of visual arts, including life, portrait, and botanical drawing, especially in watercolour, gouache and in oil paint. I like to help you try different medias, explore interests and strengthen foundational skills. I'm especially interested in helping with the exploration of what art can be for different people, this includes introductions to new techniques in a current media or exploring outside of it. I want to be a collaborator in your exploration.
The majority of my exprience has been with kids and teens, age 5 to 16. However, I have also fascilitated adults. Depending on level and interest I can adjust how we spend our time. Lessons are typically an hour, but this is flexible.
