About Jenny
My name is Jenny Wang from Wisconsin and I am a dedicated high school violinist with 10 years of experience, currently studying under a teacher from Juilliard. My journey with the violin has led me to achieve multiple honors, including serving as concertmaster in my state orchestra and winning first place in multiple concerto competitions. Beyond my own playing, I am passionate about teaching and have regular experience working with beginner and intermediate students every week. My goal is to help students build a strong foundation, gain confidence, and find joy in their musical journey.

Teaching Method & Techniques: I have structured yet flexible lessons that balance technique, musicality, expression, and engagement. My methods include: Building Fundamentals: These are the basics, such as posture, bow hold, intonation, and tone production, taught through clear demonstrations and verbal corrections. Scaffolded Learning: Introducing new concepts gradually, ensuring each skill builds on the previous one. Active Engagement: Using analogies and real-world applications to make learning relatable. Ear Training & Music Theory: Incorporating listening exercises and basic music theory to develop a well-rounded musician. Encouraging Independence: Teaching students how to practice efficiently and critically assess their playing. Typical Lesson Plan (45-60 min) Warm-up & Review (10-15 min): - Scales, finger exercises, and bowing drills. - Review of previous material with guided feedback. Technique Focus (15 min): - Posture, bowing mechanics, shifting, vibrato (as applicable). - Short études or exercises to reinforce skills. Repertoire & Musicality (20 min): - Work on a piece suited to the student’s level. - Emphasizing phrasing, dynamics, and expression. - Incorporating sight-reading practice. Closing & Practice Guidance (5-10 min): - Setting clear goals for home practice. - Answering questions and giving personalized tips.
