About Samuel
I'm a professional violinist and violist and have given tuition in schools and privately for 15 years. I studied music at the University of Cambridge and also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. I studied violin with Howard Davis (RAM) and Arisa Fujita (GSMD) and viola with Asdis Valdimarsdottir (RNCM). I welcome students of all levels for recreational and exam study (ABRSM or Trinity/Guildhall).

I strongly believe in tailoring my tuition to the needs of the student. With beginner students, particularly children, I hope to instil a strong sense of routine so that the progression is felt by the student and parent as well as making every lesson fun and engaging. Older students might need a bit more encouragement in order to gain the progression that they desire (for example achieving higher grades). I believe that fundamentally every lesson and experience playing the violin or viola should be musical, expressive and enjoyable. Right from the start!

Details
My hourly rate is £40 but usually I would start beginners with a half an hour lesson of £20. Also if you feel with your circumstances you are unable to meet this rate then I would be open to a discussion as to what would be affordable for you.
