"I am a passionate violin tutor with over three years of experience and a Graduate Diploma in Violin Pedagogy. My teaching philosophy integrates music theory, aural skills, and sight reading directly into our regular violin practice. This approach is highly effective for students preparing for formal music theory exams and those wanting an advanced understanding of musical harmony.

Instead of treating theory like a boring textbook chore, I teach scales, intervals, and harmony through practical bowing and fingering exercises. I work closely with exam candidates and everyday students who simply want to strengthen their overall musical fluency. I remember helping a student who struggled with reading accidentals quickly master their exam sight reading by connecting the notes to physical finger patterns on the fingerboard.

By building this connection between mind and instrument, my students learn to learn pieces much faster and with greater independence. I love working with creative musicians from non-classical backgrounds like jazz and pop who want to transition smoothly into structured classical ensembles. For example, I recently helped a commercial gigging musician learn how to match their bow strokes with a full section, which helped them land a seat in a local chamber group.
