About Ivy

My interest in violin began with a deep passion for music and performance. This led me to complete a Master’s in Music Performance, where I developed advanced technical and expressive skills. Over the past 9 years, I have helped students learn violin in a structured and supportive way that builds confidence and consistency.

I believe music should be taught with patience and regular practice. My teaching approach focuses on simplifying techniques into smaller steps and guiding students carefully through each stage. I encourage learners to practice consistently, stay motivated, and enjoy the learning process.

Outside teaching, I enjoy performing music and exploring different musical styles. This helps me keep lessons engaging and creative. Teaching violin is very meaningful to me because I see students grow from beginners to confident players. Helping them develop strong technical skills, musical expression, and confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of my teaching journey.

About the lesson

Learning violin becomes easier when students clearly understand the basics and practice regularly with proper guidance. In my lessons, I focus on posture, bow control, finger placement, rhythm, and simple musical pieces using clear and structured explanations. I break each technique into smaller steps so students can follow comfortably without confusion. I also include practice exercises and familiar tunes to make lessons more engaging and enjoyable. Each session is interactive and supportive, helping students build confidence while improving their skills step by step in a calm and encouraging environment.

As students progress, lessons are adjusted based on their level and learning goals. Beginners focus on posture, bowing, and basic note playing. Intermediate learners work on coordination, rhythm, and playing simple songs. Advanced students focus on technique improvement, musical expression, and performance skills. I provide regular practice routines, guided exercises, and detailed feedback to ensure steady improvement and strong musical development.

Violin helps students develop discipline, coordination, and creativity. As they improve, they become more confident in playing and expressing music. These skills are valuable for personal growth and performance opportunities. My goal is to make violin learning simple, enjoyable, and meaningful so students feel confident playing with clarity, expression, and strong technical control while continuing to improve their musical ability independently.
