About Evangeline
Teaching violin allows me to observe the direct link between mechanical understanding and beautiful sound. I work with students ranging from grade exam candidates to nervous beginners, building confidence through 13 years of hands-on work. My focus is on rhythm and timing, left hand agility, scales and arpeggios, plus shifting positions.
It is satisfying to watch a student master sight reading or vibrato after we troubleshoot the mechanics together. I also emphasize tuning by ear and grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity, keeping things consistent while the progress moves slowly.

Starting the initial session involves assessing your current physical setup and posture to ensure a healthy foundation. I rely on my Master of Music from Eastman to explain why certain movements work better than others.
We address left hand agility and shifting positions during this time. I also provide a monthly progress report shared with parents to track your growth across 10 levels of technical development. This data helps me adjust our pace for better results. I find it rewarding to help people grasp these concepts clearly.
