About Tessa
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Advanced Violin Performance after years of studying solo repertoire, orchestral music, and technical string performance during my academic training. During the past 5 years, I have taught students from different backgrounds and skill levels, helping them improve through supportive and personalized lessons. Teaching violin allows me to combine technical instruction with creativity and emotional encouragement in a meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners feel more confident through music and expressive performance.
My teaching style focuses on patience, careful listening, and healthy technical development. Some students benefit from calm repetition and reassurance, while others improve more naturally through creative interpretation and performance challenges. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s confidence level, musical goals, and learning style. Along with technical improvement, I help students strengthen rhythm awareness, musical memory, expressive phrasing, and performance preparation. Creating a welcoming and encouraging learning atmosphere remains very important to me.
Outside teaching, I continue practicing violin, exploring different interpretations of classical works, and studying performance methods that keep my musical understanding growing. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students become more confident and comfortable with their instrument over time. Helping learners reconnect with music while developing lasting violin skills continues to inspire me greatly.

My violin lessons focus on helping students build confidence and technical ability through calm and supportive guidance. I teach bow control, tone production, rhythm accuracy, posture, and intonation using practical exercises that feel approachable and encouraging for learners at every level. Lessons also include open string warm-ups, ear training, shifting practice, scale studies, and musical interpretation activities that help students strengthen coordination and expressive playing naturally over time. I create a reassuring learning atmosphere where students can improve steadily without feeling pressured or discouraged. Every lesson balances technical growth with creativity and musical enjoyment.
Beginners receive patient guidance with hand positioning, note reading, bow movement, and listening awareness through organized step-by-step exercises. Intermediate learners improve phrasing, tone consistency, rhythm control, and smoother coordination between techniques through structured musical studies and performance preparation activities. Advanced students focus on expressive interpretation, advanced bowing techniques, dynamic balance, and stronger stage confidence through detailed repertoire coaching. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s goals, learning pace, and comfort level so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning process.
Learning violin should feel rewarding and emotionally meaningful. I encourage students to focus on steady improvement instead of perfection because confidence develops naturally through support and practice. Many learners become more relaxed and expressive as their musical abilities continue growing over time. My goal is to help students enjoy the learning process while strengthening both technical skill and artistic confidence.
